In this episode of More Intelligent Tomorrow podcast, together with William O’Grady, we explore how humans learn a language and the differences between the human mind and AI. We also discuss the urgency for AI to save dying languages before it is too late.
Multilingualism is the option that we’re trying to pursue here when we talk about language revitalization.
I personally believe that this is one of the areas in which AI could really do some good. And that would be to develop chatbots that would provide kids with the opportunity for one-on-one conversations. Remember that one-on-one conversation is really important for language learning.
A difference of two or three words is huge. And that difference is reflected in the way in which the language builds its own computational system.
