With over 3,000 satellites orbiting and 10,000+ more on the horizon, the issue of space junk has become increasingly important. Humans could face a future where we become trapped by our own space junk debri. Thankfully, Araz and Siamak are working to track and avoid these flying hammers.
A piece of debri the size of a penny going 20,000 km/hr can still destroy a satellite.
Having the capability to respond quickly and autonomously is important if a breakup happens and new unknown debri is created.
Are we facing a future where we can’t go to space anymore because it is too dangerous?
